The Rawls Ambassadors spent time last Sunday welcoming new residents to the Texas Tech campus. In addition to helping break down boxes and sort recyclables, they greeted new students and their families. The Ambassadors took time to talk with students and parents, welcome them to Tech, and make sure they were set up for a great first semester!
“It was great getting to work Move-In Day. It was exciting to see the new freshmen starting the next stage of their academic journeys,” Michael Rowen said.
“I really enjoyed helping the freshman students last Sunday during move-in. Seeing their excited, anxious faces brought me back to when I was in their shoes. Being there for them with a warm welcome and a smile hopefully eased some of their nerves. I tried to remember the emotions I felt when I first came to Texas Tech, so I could better assist them in any way they needed. It’s always rewarding to help new students get off to a good start and represent the Rawls Ambassadors,” Kayla Wilkie said.
Thank you to Kayla, Michael, and all the Rawls Ambassadors who participated in this year’s resident move-in!
