Alumnus Philip Lang Supports Student Scholarships with Donation to Endowment

by - Oct 20, 2016

Philip and Amy LangRawls College alumni Philip Lang was recently honored as a 2016 Distinguished Alumni for his outstanding dedication to Texas Tech University and its students. Philip and his wife, Amy, have a long giving history with the Rawls College. Not only do they continually support student scholarships with financial contributions, but Philip also served on the Rawls College Advisory Board from 2006-13 and was involved with the steering committee of the Rawls College of Business Annual Dallas Scholarship Fundraising Event from 2002-15. He served as Chair or Co-Chair of the committee from 2010-15.

Falling in line with their history of commitment to the school, Philip and Amy wanted to do something to entice giving from other alumni. They decided to create a new gift to his already-established endowment, matching anyone who donated during the Distinguished Alumni reception – up to $25,000. In addition to Philip and Amy, 30 attendees contributed a total of $26,000 bringing the total donation to $51,000. One hundred percent of the funds raised will go toward student scholarships in the Rawls College.

“It has always been so rewarding for Amy and I to see the impact our work is having on these students.  Our goal is to continue to build our endowment and in turn to change the lives of as many students as possible,” Philip Lang said.

Thank you to Philip and Amy Lang and all other donors for your continual support of Texas Tech University and the Rawls College.
