Rawls College marketing PhD candidate and graduate part-time instructor, Kiran Pedada, has been awarded the Texas Tech University Helen DeVitt Jones Excellence in Graduate Teaching Award for 2017. This award recognizes outstanding scholarly activity and excellence in teaching. Students must be nominated by a graduate faculty member to apply.
Pedada has taught three courses since starting at Texas Tech in the summer of 2015, including marketing research and analysis, fundamentals of marketing and introduction to marketing. He has maintained above a 4.5 on a 5-point student rating scale in all three courses and is currently teaching a sales management course online for the spring 2017 semester.
His research focus is on empirical marketing strategy with an emphasis on international marketing strategy and retailing strategy. In 2016, Pedada was recognized by the Rawls College for his outstanding research contributions.
“I feel very grateful and humbled to receive this honor. Texas Tech is a university that always encourages doctoral students to excel in both research and teaching. I am highly indebted to all of our outstanding faculty for shaping us into well-rounded scholars. I am very thankful to my doctoral student colleagues for their continuous support and guidance,” said Pedada.
